Swiss transported 14 tons of vaccine to Brazil

Under the flight number LX96, Swiss’s freight department transported around 14 tons of Covid-19 vaccine from Zurich to São Paulo on Friday. The machine took off in Switzerland on the evening of December 17, 2020. The delivery had previously been moved from Beijing to Zurich.

The special shipment was transported in ten Envirotainer RAP-e2 containers, which kept the temperature constant during the flight in the range of 2-8 degrees Celsius. Together with the shipping partner PGL Brazil, Swiss WorldCargo carried out the transport on behalf of the Brazilian Butantan Institute. Upon arrival, the plane was greeted by several prominent government officials, including the Governor of São Paulo, Mr. João Doria. The entire shipment contained nearly 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
