Actemra is the means by which coronavirus patients are to save their lives. It is an arthritis remedy from the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche. China’s national health agency is now approving the drug for severe coronavirus-induced lung damage with increased interleukin-6 levels.

According to Roche, Actemra could help curb inflammation, which the increased value indicates. So far, there is no clinical evidence of the effectiveness of the agent in coronavirus patients. In February, however, researchers in China launched a study to treat coronavirus patients with Actemra.
