The prosecutor’s office is investigating the leak to the Internet of recordings from municipal monitoring at the observation tower in Świętno near Wolsztyn. The cameras were to record two couples having sex. The mayor of Wolsztyn confirmed with “regret” that a fragment of the recording was leaked to the Internet and notified law enforcement agencies.

The portal wolsztyn.naszemiasto.pl informed about the leakage of recordings to the Internet on Wednesday. “The camera monitoring security and order on the observation tower in Świętno, in the Wolsztyn commune, recorded the love of two couples” – stated in the publication.

The mayor took the floor
On Wednesday, the mayor of Wolsztyn, Wojciech Lis, issued a statement in which he “regretted” confirmed that the recording was online.

He reported that he had notified law enforcement authorities about the case, and the necessary procedures had been implemented in the office itself to avoid similar situations in the future.

I regret to confirm the fact that a fragment of the recording from the internal video monitoring belonging to the Municipal Office in Wolsztyn has been released to the Internet. I informed the law enforcement authorities about the above fact. For the sake of the cause, we cannot provide any other information at this time. The necessary procedures have already been implemented to eliminate similar incidents in the future. We will inform you about the next steps after completing the activities carried out by the relevant authorities.

The prosecutor’s office is investigating the case
After being reported by the mayor, the case was examined by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wolsztyn. – For now, the prosecutor is analyzing the case and will decide in which direction the proceedings will be conducted – said Łukasz Wawrzyniak, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań.

Wawrzyniak assessed that the investigation could be conducted in terms of Article 191a of the Criminal Code, concerning the recording or dissemination of the image of a naked person without their consent. This offense is punishable by a prison sentence of three months to five years, but is prosecuted at the victim’s request.

On the other hand, for committing an indecent act in a public place, in accordance with article 140 of the Code of Petty Offenses, there is a penalty of arrest, restriction of liberty, a fine of up to PLN 1.5 thousand or a reprimand.
