The Swedish National Debt Office has rejected Norwegian Air Sweden’s application for a government credit guarantee under the guarantee program for airlines, it is stated in a statement on Tuesday.
The mandate of the Swedish government states that any guarantee can only be given to the airlines that are considered to have been economically viable on 31 December 2019.
The Debt Office thus assessed that per. 31 December 2019 was a very high risk that Norwegian would not be able to meet its financial obligations.
