The Eurovision icon, who is making another attempt this year to participate in the European festival, had to end her performance.
According to the Swedish newspaper ‘Aftonbladet’, the man who stormed the stage with a banner is a climate activist. His canvas read in large print ‘Återställ våtmarker’, which means ‘wetlands restoration’. Although those words could not be read by the people who followed the show on television. Reportedly, three other activists also wanted to storm the stage. They were all arrested. That writes ‘Expresses’.

Displeasure
Despite the fact that the man was quickly removed from the stage and the brave Loreen continued to sing in all serenity, her act was still stopped. “I didn’t realize what was happening,” Loreen said afterwards. “I just kept going. I didn’t think about it too much and I was in a flow.” Organizer Anders Wistbacka has compliments for Loreen: “She did exactly what an artist should do. She continued until the moment we had to intervene.”
However, the stoppage couldn’t hurt her chances. Because Loreen was then allowed to start her act again. And she achieved a place in the final of the Swedish Melodifestivalen that will take place on March 11th. That brings her one step closer to an appearance on the European stage.
History
According to Swedish journalist Gustav Dahlander, it is the first time ever that a performance has been disrupted during the Melodifestivalen and that the artist has to start over. An extremely exceptional moment. Or as Dahlander calls it: “A piece of history.”
