On Friday, however, the Portuguese Record stated that there is a pact between Gyökeres and Sporting. The star is said to have promised to stay the whole season, even if one of the interested parties offers 100 million euros this winter.
Now writing Evening Standard that Chelsea are stepping up their interest in Gyökeres. They have contacted Sporting regarding the Swede.
The Portuguese should have referred to the buyout clause. According to the information, Chelsea have also registered their interest in Ousmane Diomande.
The 20-year-old defender joined Sporting from Danish FC Midtjylland and made a success.
Diomande’s buyout clause is 80 million euros and Sporting has also referred to that sum in his case.
Chelsea wants to make a double signing, but a total of 180 million euros is required.
