Swede knocked out by tackle: “Do not know how serious the injury is”

Both Anton Blidh and Brad Marchand were forced to leave the match after receiving tackles.
Despite that, Boston managed to win over Washington.
– We show good character, says hill Charlie McAvoy who decided late.

When Boston defeated Washington, the match ended prematurely for both Anton Blidh and Brad Marchand.

At the end of the first period, Blidh was lowered by a tackle from Tom Wilson in the offensive zone just after he left the puck to a teammate.

And just over six minutes into the second period, Marchand also left the ice after being tackled from behind by Garnett Hathaway, a tackle that stirred emotions in the Boston camp.

– Hathaway was looking for “Marshy”, he is that type of player. It was a dirty tackle, says David Pastrnak.

Despite the loss of players, Boston managed to sort out an odd goal victory, after Charlie McAvoy decided in numerical superiority with only 45 seconds left to play the third period. A goal that came nine minutes after Nicklas Bäckström scored his first goal of the season.

And now the question is what the status is with the two injured Boston attackers.

– We will see here in the future. We do not know how serious Marchand or Blidh’s injury is. It sucks to see a player like Marchand be lowered by such an ugly thing, but such is hockey some nights and hopefully he can bounce back from it, says Boston coach Bruce Cassidy.
