SVP parliamentary group leader Thomas Aeschi (41) not only plays a role on the national political stage, but also as a member of the SVP Baar board is always involved in local matters.
–
So he and the local authorities were in the hair because of a planned asylum center in Baar, as well as because of a new parking concept. And before the national elections last October because of the advertising regulations: The point of contention was the distance between the election posters and the roadside (at least 2.5 meters). The community threatened with eviction if someone violated it. Aeschi argued, however, that the regulations contradict cantonal law.

SP municipal council rages over Aeschi
Actually a provincial farce. But the poster affair continued to spread: community councils, party leaders, and even government councilors were given the gossip that was carried out by email. In the end, around 40 people were able to read along. The tone between Aeschi and the SP councilor Zari Dzaferi (34), who is responsible for the security / work service department, also became increasingly sharp.
–
Under the motto “Something personal”, Dzaferi draws attention to Aeschi’s various complaints to the community. Sometimes it was about an incorrectly placed election poster, sometimes it was about the correct design of election flyers. Political odds and ends.
–
Then Dzaferi clears his anger: «Since I have known you, you have been calling for a leaner state at various levels. You could do a lot if you are just a little more relaxed and pick up the phone. And don’t write e-mails back and forth until you have enough material to make a complaint out of text modules, »he throws at the SVPler.

Aeschi files a criminal complaint
This in turn lifted Aeschi’s hat. In Dzaferi’s personal comments, “multiple breaches of official secrecy can be seen from an objective point of view,” he writes back quickly. It is an official offense. In addition, the “are animated with undisclosed personal, untruthful and factual accusations”.
–
This time Aeschi also sent his mail to the public prosecutor’s office in Zug. The SVP man confirmed his criminal complaint against Dzaferi to BLICK. «I asked the prosecutor to investigate the case. SP municipal council Dzaferi makes false accusations in a sweep, »says Aeschi. “His statements that violate personal information, are untruthful, and are not factual are an official offense that is being pursued ex officio.”
–
Return carriage because of asylum dispute?
The fact that Aeschi has activated the public prosecutor’s office also has to do with the dispute over an asylum home from 2015. At the time, he had heard that a temporary container settlement for refugees was planned in Baar – and made this public via a letter to the editor. At that time, the community filed a criminal complaint for suspected breach of official secrecy – but not against Aeschi, but against unknown. The case was later abandoned without result.
–
So now the late return carriage? “No, certainly not,” says Aeschi. “But if the community takes action against breaches of official secrecy, it must stick to official secrecy even more.”
–
Prosecutor conducts criminal investigation
Dzaferi himself has only been in office since 2019. He could not comment on the current allegations and the complaint: “At the present time, I can neither confirm nor deny anything.”
–
The Zug law enforcement authorities have received the complaint, as spokesman Frank Kleiner confirmed. The public prosecutor then initiated a criminal investigation. He does not answer whether and how many surveys have already been carried out and whether there is an indictment. “Since this is an ongoing procedure, we cannot provide any further information.”
