The Gloggnitz footballers can still “enjoy” the winter break, including the home program, for almost a month – because the seriousness of life begins again on January 15th with the start of preparations. And the good news is already there as a pre-Christmas present to be unwrapped under the Christmas tree: Mathias Gruber gives the green light. “He wants to get off to a flying start in preparation and get involved straight away,” says coach Levent Sengül, happy about the comeback.
2023 was a forgettable year for the variable offensive player. The difference player dropped out on the home stretch and couldn’t help his Gloggnitzers. And things didn’t go as planned in the fall season either: Gruber was only able to play 28 minutes against Haitzendorf. A hamstring injury put the noble technician out of action.
If he finds his old strength again, Gruber can compensate for the departure of playmaker Lukas Grill and add another dimension to the Gloggnitz game. “Quite a new addition,” smiles Sengül. This also applies to another returnee: striker Manuel Schwarz is wearing the SVG dress again after his semester abroad in the USA.
