The Japanese automotive company Suzuki has introduced the seventh generation model of the Swift small car, which will also be available on the European market from the spring of 2024.

It is reported that in the new Swift’s comfortable cabin, all controls are arranged around the driver, for the first time a new high-resolution nine-inch touch screen is built in, but thanks to the Data Communication Module (DCM), the driver can control and use practical functions directly through a smartphone.

The total volume of the trunk has now reached 265 liters (without the compartment under the cargo floor), the loading threshold is eleven millimeters lower than in the sixth generation, and the loading edge has been lowered to 705 millimeters to facilitate loading and unloading.

Under the hood of the new Swift is a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with Dualjet injection and an output of 61 kW/83 hp. Power is transferred through either a five-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable CVT automatic transmission. The engine is supported by a 12-volt SHVS mild hybrid system with an integrated belt drive starter generator (ISG). An automatic all-wheel drive system will be on the optional equipment list.

The new Swift complies with the next level of the ‘General Safety Regulation’ (GSR), which will apply from July 2024, so the small car has access to advanced safety and assistance systems.

In the Japanese market, the seventh-generation Swift with a CVT box starts already on December 13, the variant with 5MK – in January 2024.
