Suspected serial killer arrested in United States

An American believed to be linked to six murders has been arrested and charged with two of them.

Perez Reed was arrested by the FBI when he got off a train on Friday. The 25-year-old American was carrying a 40-caliber weapon, which investigation revealed was linked to a series of crimes, at least six of which were fatal. In a press release, the FBI explained that Perez Reed has so far been charged with two first degree murders, indictment with a weapon and assault.

The first incident he is said to be linked to took place on September 12 in St. Louis County, Missouri, reports “St. Louis Today ”. That day, he allegedly shot a man in the chest. The victim was at a bus stop when she was shot. She survived the attack but “will have physical and permanent injuries forever,” the county prosecutor said in a statement. The next day, Perez Reed allegedly shot someone again, this time to his death. The victim was only 16 years old. Then, on September 16, a woman was shot again at a gas station. She was rushed to hospital and survived, while at the same time a fourth victim was killed, shot in the head. The tragic series did not end there since on September 19, a fifth person was discovered dead, targeted in the head and body. She would have been killed the day before. On September 26, Perez Reed allegedly acted again, fatally shooting a sixth person.

“Random” acts

Each of these crimes is said to be linked to the weapon found on the suspect. But another man was also found on 1is November, dead, in Kansas City, where the American would have traveled. Surveillance video of the building reportedly shows the victim holding the door for the alleged murderer as they both entered the building. And it is not over since on November 2, the naked body of another alleged victim was discovered inside his apartment in Kansas. She died of gunshot wounds to the head and upper back. Her phone and wallet were missing in her apartment. Security personnel at her building told investigators that on October 29, she entered the building with a man who had a Missouri driver’s license matching Perez Reed. They also noted that the man had a crescent moon tattoo on his head, like the suspect.

None of the victims knew each other and the prosecutor explained that the murders appeared to be random acts. The suspect, imprisoned and whose bail has been set at $ 2 million, denies the facts.
