“Potato! Please keep a healthy distance, remember that we are in a health emergency situation! ”A Civil Protection worker shouted to the dozens of families who attended the Centro Cultural Anáhuac School yesterday, one of the venues where the test was administered admission for high school in the capital and the State of Mexico.
“Do not be unconscious, remember: there are already more than 50 thousand dead [a causa] of the coronavirus ”, insisted the employee, although with increasing frustration and despair, because it seemed that his words were in the air and did not cause any effect among those present.
Yesterday the third day of the exam of the Metropolitan Commission of Public Institutions of Higher Secondary Education (Comipems) took place and, as eight days ago and while the test was ending, several people were outside the venues to wait for the young people aspirants.
Due to the crowds that appeared last week at the exam application venues, the Undersecretary of Higher Secondary Education, Juan Pablo Arroyo, recommended that the young applicants go to the test with a single companion.
But in the end, the official’s recommendation was not heeded and entire families arrived at the designated sites.
For example, at Colegio Anáhuac, the educational authorities did their best: they cordoned off the area, sent patrols and a Civil Protection team, used banners and megaphones to ask those present to keep a healthy distance and asked people to use the all the time the mask or masks.
Nothing worked. At 09:00 hours, the school, located in the Iztapalapa mayor’s office, was already packed. There was a tumult of people who lived together without obeying the protection measures against Covid-19.
“[Por favor], don’t get in trouble, there are a lot of foolish people, but do ask for the [uso del] masks ”, the same man commented to his Civil Protection team, who in vain made a call to keep a healthy distance with his megaphone.
It struck 11:00 and the distance disappeared even more.
At that time, the first applicants began to leave the Anahuac College, so some of the attendees began to slowly approach the main door to locate their relatives.
Fervent hugs were registered around noon, when most of the young people finished the Comipems test with the enthusiasm of staying in their first choice.

On the street Trabajadoras Sociales, a group of Iztapalapa officials displayed signs with the legend: “Daddy, if you love me and take care of me, please wear the mask.”
