More than half of Tokyo’s population believes that the Olympics scheduled for summer 2021 should be postponed, or canceled altogether, Rsport reports, citing a study by Kiodo and Tokyo MX.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced at the end of March that the Olympic Games would be postponed for a year due to the pandemic. The games must take place from July 23 to August 8. The games were to take place this summer.
27.7% of respondents want the Olympic Games to be canceled, while 24% believe that the Games should be postponed again.
46.3% of the respondents answered positively about the games on the set date, but 31.1% expressed that]the games should be held in an abbreviated format.
The survey was conducted from June 26 to 28 by calling randomly selected numbers. Number of respondents 1030.
