“Survey Reveals 68% of Americans Believe Joe Biden is Too Old for Another Term as US President”

STRUGGLING: Incumbent US President Joe Biden

Almost seven out of ten Americans believe Joe Biden is too old for another round as US president.

It is ABC and the Washington Post that have conducted a survey that shows figures that should worry the sitting president:

68 percent of those surveyed believe Joe Biden is too old for another four-year term as president.

Biden announced last month that he is running for re-election in 2024, when he will be 81 years old.

Donald Trump is no young stallion either, 76 years old and four years younger than Biden. But the respondents are far more positive about the former president, who is also standing as a candidate.

Only 44 percent of those surveyed think Donald Trump is too old.

DOES NOT GET AGE PENALTIES: Former President Donald Trump.

But it is not only age that speaks against the sitting president. Of those questioned, 54 percent believe that Trump did a better job with the economy – by far the most important election issue for Americans – than Biden. 36 percent believe that Biden has done a good job with the economy during his presidency so far.

Biden is at his lowest in popularity, writes ABC. 36 percent believe he has done an acceptable job, a decrease of six percentage points from the previous survey. 56 percent think he has delivered unapproved.

Biden’s rating is the lowest ever recorded for any president in his first term, a year and a half before the next election.

Gerald Ford had 40 percent approval in May 1975, while Jimmy Carter had 37 percent in May 1979.

President Trump also struggled at the same time, but he had 39 percent support in April 2019, and as you know, was not re-elected.
