Surprising Turn of Events: Tomáš Vomáčka Joins Pardubice B Instead of Hradec Králové

The events surrounding Tomáš Vomáčka, who applied for a position in the Hradec Králové organization over the summer, took an unexpected turn. According to the latest information, the promising goalkeeper will eventually strengthen the Pardubice reserve.

“Yesterday I was supposed to talk with his agent about the contract with us, and today Tomáš was supposed to be catching the match with Vienna,” Hradec’s general manager Aleš Kmoníček wrote in response to one of the questions in the Ask section.

“However, I was surprisingly informed by his agent that they had reached an agreement in Pardubice and he should leave for their “B” team,” added Kmoníček.

A spicy transfer between the East Bohemian opponents, what do you say? The 24-year-old Vomáčka even jumped into the preparatory match for partner Kolín last week, but…

His hockey career will – despite his previous connection with Mountfield – continue roughly twenty kilometers south of Hradec Králové.

He will form a quality pair with David Honzík in Pardubice B, but the club has not yet officially confirmed the agreement.

“I was surprisingly informed by his agent that they had agreed in Pardubice.”

The native of Trutnov is returning to the Czech Republic after seven years spent across the Atlantic, where he replaced a total of four competitions. The last two seasons he guarded the goaltending of Norfolk in the farm ECHL.

Nevertheless, the fact that the representatives of the Nashville Predators booked him in the NHL draft in 2017 testifies to Vomaček’s talent. Less than a year earlier, he contributed to the golden ride at the Hlink Memorial as a goalkeeper duo.
