Henry Cavill has made a lot of noise with his departure from ‘The Witcher’.
The third season of The Witcher finally premiered on Netflix at the end of last week, and it sees Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia for the last time.
After the current third season (the first part of which appeared last week), two more seasons will follow. Starting next season, the role of Geralt will be taken over by Liam Hemsworth. Just like for us, this news also came as a complete surprise to the cast.
Cast knew nothing
The rest of the cast only found out about this news several months after the third season was filmed. Actress Freya Allen, who plays the role of Cirilla, said in an interview: “We didn’t know until a few months after the shooting of the third season, so we didn’t really get to say goodbye. I was a bit in shock, especially because we it was only one day before the fans found out. So basically we all went through the same period of disbelief and sadness.”
The departure of Cavill caused quite a stir among the fans at the time, but the cast was also shocked by his departure.
