Suriname will soon open an embassy in Jerusalem

Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director-General Peled says the Surinamese minister’s visit to his country is a milestone in mutual relations. “Israel will have better access to the Caribbean and Suriname will have access to our technology and investors,” he says in the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post.

Four countries

So far, only America, Guatemala, Honduras and Kosovo have embassies in Jerusalem. The announcement of the move of the US embassy in Israel in 2017 led to angry reactions in the Middle East. The Dutch embassy has been located in a suburb of Tel Aviv since 1980. There are no plans for a move.
