According to Karine Moykens, head of the Interfederal Testing and Tracing Committee, work is underway to increase testing capacity. “The number of available tests shouldn’t be a problem, but of course we don’t yet have an idea of how many people will report to the test centers with symptoms or high-risk contact.”
That is why it is important to always make an appointment if you want to travel. In this way, a better estimate can be made of how many tests and personnel are needed.
When is the best time to make an appointment to know your result in time? For that you have to take two things into account. It can take 24 to 36 hours before your test result is known. Making an appointment on time is therefore the message. But don’t plan that appointment days in advance either, because a negative test result is often only valid for 72 hours, calculated from the date of the test.
