Sunday May 1, 2022: is public transport working?

For the year 2022, the 1is May falls on a Sunday. In France, this date is a public holiday, it is Labor Day (and lily of the valley!).

There is no general rule concerning the operation or not of public transport services (bus, car, tram, metro, etc.) on the day of the 1is may. Each public transport network has its own operating schedule. When the network is working on 1is May, the timetables applied are often those specific to Sundays and public holidays. Before making a trip by public transport, it is therefore advisable to find out about the networks used.

In Île-de-France, the circulation or not on May 1 varies according to the carriers which operate the lines. This situation is gradually being reviewed by the Île-de-France Mobilités organizing authority. In 2023, all public transport services in Île-de-France should operate on May 1 according to public holiday timetables. In provincial urban transport, there is often a lack of transport supply.

The coaches of the BlaBlaCar Bus and Flixbus long-distance lines will run normally. For regional transport lines, traffic varies depending on the network.
