Summertime – Inese Galante: Last Chance to Experience High-Quality Classical Music and Jazz Performances by Artists from the Metropolitan Opera and Broadway

From August 10 to 13, the music festival “Summertime – invites Inese Galante. This time will be special: the festival will be held for the last time, offering high-quality classical music and jazz performances by artists from the Metropolitan Opera and Broadway.

During four days, brilliant artists will perform on the stage of the Dzintari concert hall – virtuoso Latvian pianists will delight the audience at the opening concert, soloists of the world’s largest opera houses will take the stage at the Inese Galante evening, as well as young and talented Latvian musicians. The spirit of Italy will be introduced to the festival by Rafael Gualazzi, the king of Balkan rhythms Shantel will provide an emotional concert, while the famous actress and singer, Broadway star Úte Lempere will perform at the Gala concert of the festival with a mono performance dedicated to Marlene Dietrich, concluding the story of “Summertime – Inese Galante invites” .

The opening concert of the festival is already on Thursday, August 10. Andrejs Osokins, Reinis Zariņš, Daumants Liepiņš, Aurēlija Šimkus – these talented Latvian pianists have been loved by both local and international audiences, but the visitors of “Summertime – invites Inese Galante” will have a unique opportunity to see them all on the same stage in the Dzintari concert hall. Melodies by the Polish composer Frederic Chopin, compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach and modern interpretations of Bach, as well as reminiscences by Ferenc Liszt will be played.

On August 11, the German musician Shantel, or Stefan Hantel, the king of Balkan rhythms, who has Greek, Romanian and Jewish blood in his veins, will perform at the festival, while on August 12, the day concert “Viva amore!” along with the muse and patron of the festival Ines Galanti, internationally recognized artists will take the stage, including the famous Ukrainian bass Alexander Tsymbalyuk, who has played the main roles in performances in the world’s leading opera houses – including the Metropolitan Opera and La Scala. Also, the listeners will be able to hear the soloist of the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, tenor Artjom Safronov, as well as our young performers, finalists of the “Talents of Inese Galante” competition. At the piano – Austrian pianist Greta Erharter-Sargasyan. On the evening of August 12, Italian jazz will be offered by Raphael Gualazzi, who is one of the most titled Italian musicians performing in the genres of jazz and blues.

The festival will end on August 13. The diva of the gala concert this year will be the Broadway star Ute Lemper, who will present the world-renowned solo show “Meeting Marlene”.
