Summer is one of the tastiest times of the year, but NOT if you’re dealing with extra pounds. Here are some tips for you if you want to lose a few pounds before the holidays!

Rapid weight loss before vacation: general recommendations

Although the warm season is very good when it comes to eating fresh vegetables and fruits, well, small temptations like ice cream or soft drinks can make it difficult to lose weight.

Thus, weight loss can be reduced to a simple formula: eat fewer calories than we consume and exercise! And the results will not be long in coming.

According to experts, a fast diet should not be a starvation diet. Very low calorie diets unfortunately leave increased food cravings, slow metabolism and digestive problems such as bloating. So starvation is NOT a solution.

The diet must be as clean as possible

But we can do something else. We can reduce the number of calories consumed, avoid fast food/junk food and most processed foods.

If you also find yourself, opt for a natural menu, rich in dietary foods and good quality proteins, to help you get rid of problems such as bloating and water retention in the body.

For breakfast, you can choose seasonal vegetables (grilled peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes or zucchini) to eat with lean proteins such as eggs, cold grilled chicken or turkey, lean cheese, raw fish, etc.

Lunch must also include vegetables such as peas, chickpeas, lentils – seasoned with protein (beef loin, turkey breast, salmon).

Tips! To temper your sweet tooth, you can rely on a few drained dates/figs.

For dinner, you can opt for a light dish. Saltwater fish can be an excellent choice along with green vegetables (asparagus, green beans, broccoli or spinach).

Staying hydrated during the summer is extremely important

With ever-higher temperatures and more physical activity, naturally, the body needs more water. It is a proven fact that water has a defining role in the weight loss process.

Drink at least 2.5 liters of water a day, preferably flavored with lemon, rosemary, mint or cucumber. Drinking enough water eases digestion, reduces retention and cellulite, but most importantly, reduces bloating and cravings (especially sweet, which is a plus!).

Physical activity should be part of the daily routine

To sustain weight loss, exercise is imperative. While changing your eating plan and cutting calories have a powerful effect on weight loss, well, exercise has a significant role to play.

Therefore, physical exercises, whether performed at home, are ideal for those who cannot afford to go to the gym. Morning jogging or long walks in the evening are also encouraged.
