Summer tour: England dominates the United States

Despite the absence of many executives participating in the tour of the British and Irish Lions, England made short work of a valiant team of the United States (43-29).

Unable to make their tour of North America, England took advantage of the home ground. On the lawn of Twickenham, the XV of the Rose dominated the United States a week before receiving Canada, which was crushed this Saturday by Wales. If the American striker Luke Carty opened the scoring by foot in the 6th minute, Sam Underhill started the English offensive machine, who must however compose without some of his executive players selected by Warren Gatland for the prestigious tour of the British and Irish Lions in South Africa.

Indeed, at the quarter of an hour of play, Ollie Lawrence made the addition more difficult with the second of the four English tries registered before half-time. Within seven minutes, Joe Cokanasiga broke through the United States defense twice to offer a margin of 23 points to the XV de la Rose at halftime. Remobilized by Gary Gold in the privacy of the locker room, the Americans raised their heads as soon as they returned to the lawn at Twickenham. Jamason Fa’anana Schultz went to flatten the first try of the United States in this meeting. It didn’t take more to sting England to the quick because Jamie Blamire scored his team’s fifth try eight minutes later.

This start of the second act was a crossover as Cam Dolan responded before seeing Marcus Smith and Harry Randall score twice in four minutes. However, it was the United States that had the last word with a fourth and final attempt by Christian Dyer two minutes from the siren. After a very complicated 6 Nations Tournament, with a fifth place and three defeats in five games, the XV de la Rose found color (43-29) against an opponent who, however, was not a cador.
