The torrid heat is raging but the desire to go out, have fun and see new things is not lacking. There are many summer events around the province to cheer up tourists and residents who haven’t left for the holidays: festivals, parties, excursions, live music, theatrical performances and much more. If you haven’t already planned, here are some suggestions.
Summer reviews
The summer programming calendars of the various municipalities of the Pontine province are full of events and appointments: music and culture in Sabaudia, entertainment for young and old in Priverno, guided tours and live shows in Sermoneta, sports and live music in Latina, appointments for all tastes in the center of Formia, three months of events scheduled in the Fondi sotto le Stelle review.
Events and guided tours
The great protagonists of the weekend are the excellent local Pontine products that can be tasted in various events around the province: in San Felice, a double appointment with the Watermelon Festival and with the Vini e Sapori al Circeo event, while the Borgo del Gusto arrives in Bassiano. A completely different atmosphere in Lenola which during the weekend will host the Celtic Hills days, a festival dedicated to Norse music, culture and traditions. Concerts
Many appointments with music and theater throughout the Pontine province. Theater lovers will be spoiled for choice this weekend: the Classical Theater Festival continues in Formia and the Glades review, which every week brings a show to a different town on the Via Francigena, this time leaving the Pontine province to go to Carpineto Romano. A much loved event kicks off: The Park and the Comedy which brings high-level shows to the Circeo National Park. New appointment also with the historic literary review Libri sulla Cresta dell’Onda which this time will feature science popularizer Mario Tozzi.
Exhibitions
There are also many exhibitions in the Pontine area: the exhibition dedicated to Contemporary Art can be visited in the Valvisciolo Abbey Museum, which joins the museum’s prestigious collection. In the splendid Giudea district in Fondi, the Percorsi d’Arte exhibition continues with various collateral events. Still in Fondi but at the Baronial Palace, the great collective Metamorphosis can be visited until September, while in Cisterna there is the solo show Le Vie dello Spirito by Barbara Stamegna.
Cinema
There are also many appointments for cinema lovers, while the programming of open-air cinema continues at the Multiplex Corso di Latina, while the 9th edition of the Cisterna Film Festival, an international short film festival, is held in Cisterna.
