Bobo.id – NASA’s Artemis 1 Orion spacecraft has successfully completed its mission to the moon.

Reported from space.comthe Orion ship is known to lose a lot of heat-shielding material after returning to earth.

Even so, scientists think NASA’s Orion craft performed better than expected on its first spaceflight.

NASA said via teleconference on March 7, 2023 yesterday, that the Orion spacecraft orbits the moon for about 25 days.

Artemis 1 Orion was first launched on November 16, 2022 on a rocket Space Launch Systemthe most powerful rocket ever launched.

NASA’s SLS program manager, John Honeycutt, said NASA was surprised by the extraordinary capabilities of the rocket and aircraft.

This successful unmanned flight indicates that the SLS is ready to support manned Artemis missions.

From observations after returning to earth, Orion’s heat shield was not working as expected.

However, NASA is confident that with development and improvement, Artemis 2 with a crew will be ready to circle the moon in 2024.
