For around twelve years, the WKO Steiermark has been awarding training companies and their apprentices who have completed their apprenticeship with distinction the “Star of Styria” (Styria star).
Usually the award ceremony takes place in the course of a ceremonial handover. Nevertheless, the stars and certificates were awarded to 58 training companies, 63 apprentices and 16 master craftsmen and proficiency test graduates.
Nevertheless, the WKO regional office Ennstal / Salzkammergut offers the option of a pick-up and home delivery service in order to give the awardees an honorable and visible sign of recognition despite the current circumstances.
Only the best
Regional office chairman Egon Hierzegger states: “Every year a large number of qualified specialists are trained in the Styrian companies. Whether top apprenticeship graduates, their training companies as well as masters and proficiency test graduates – they all make a major contribution to the Styrian economy as top-class young people with a high level of qualification. The best will be awarded the “Star of Styria” trophy. “
Top ten apprenticeships
The ten most popular apprenticeships in the Ennstal / Salzkammergut region come from the trades and crafts, trade, tourism and leisure industries. The apprenticeships in retail, metal technology, automotive technology, electrical engineering, cook, installation / building technology, joinery, mechatronics, hotel / hospitality assistant and carpentry are in great demand in the region. 417 training companies are currently training 1,099 apprentices.
Skilled workers enliven our region
Leading companies were also honored, some of which are training over 50 apprentices at the same time. “The region lives from highly qualified specialists. Apprenticeship qualifications as well as proficiency and master craftsman examinations represent the guarantee for excellent experts of the future, for whom all doors are open for the further career path ”, says regional office manager deputy Christian Hollinger.
