The Perseids, the most captivating meteor shower of each year, took place last Tuesday and decorated the sky by illuminating various countries on the planet with a celestial tone.
The Perseid meteors are fast and bright, which makes thousands of people gather every year from all over the planet to enjoy the natural spectacle that is repeated every August.
Also known as “Tears of Saint Lawrence,” the shower peaks at up to 100 meteors per hour, drawing astronomy enthusiasts and lovers alike to flock.
The Perseids is caused, according to NASA, by a pile of debris left by Comet Swift-Tuttle at least 1,000 years ago.
