Students from the GLT department of the Montluçon (Allier) site of the IUT Clermont Auvergne discover the opportunities available to them

The Logistics and Transport Management department of the IUT Clermont Auvergne organized a day on the pursuit of studies and training opportunities, Friday March 11, on the Montluçon site (Allier).

For students to discover post-graduation

This day was intended for the 49 students in the second year of DUT GLT and the 56 students who are in the first year of the BUT Management of Logistics and Transport, the new three-year diploma prepared at the IUT.

“The objective is to show our students the range of opportunities open to them, so that they can see all the outlets and the multitude of sectors of activity in which they can work. It’s so diverse. »

The importance of the alumni network

More than a hundred former students, from the class of 1995 to the most recent and who are now working, were invited to talk about their various professions.

Étienne Nozi, Inès Kouam, Bintou Seck Fatoumata, Antonin Chèze and Yanël Feuillet-Garcia have worked on the organization of this day, under the supervision of Christine Raymond and Sylvie Norre, since September.

“The hardest part was finding a date that suited everyone. The elders are in active life and scattered throughout France. »

Since the start of the school year, the Montluçon (Allier) site of the IUT Clermont Auvergne has been offering bac +3 diplomas

A majority of students continue their studies after the DUT

Through these IUT alumni, current students understand that they can immediately get value from their diploma because there are many job offers and the alumni network is an important way to get to know them.

However, the majority of students continue their studies in bac +3, or even bac +5. “Most of the students continue on a work-study program. It’s a good way for companies to recruit,” explains Christine Raymond.

String of success. In addition to students from the department, STMG final year students from Paul-Constans high school were also invited to discover the GLT sector and the trades. The school is on a rope for success with the IUT Clermont Auvergne.
