A student stabbed his teacher to death in high school in the French city Saint-Jean-de-Luzreports the BBC.
According to local media, the incident happened during class. The attacker entered the classroom while the teacher was teaching Spanish.
The student has been detained, and the investigators are at the scene of the crime together with a prosecutor, inform the local authorities.
The teacher was about 50 years old and died after a cardiac arrestwhen emergency teams arrived at the scene.
Meanwhile, French media reported that the student may have suffered from mental health problems. At this stage of the investigation, there are no suggestions that the incident is related to terrorism.
