Could also be the users. My lightning cables never break. Literally no one has ever bought a replacement lightning cable at my house and we now have a stock of more than 10 (old) lightning devices.

I don’t care about data transfer, iPhones don’t do anything with it anyway. Try transferring your photos to your PC via a lightning cable. That is terribly unreliable, most likely intentional. Just upload to your NAS or iCloud.

Moreover, many USBC android devices only have support for 2.0 speeds.

I think USBC is a terrible connector for charging phones. It’s nice that more and more devices have it and that it’s symmetrical, that’s all good, but ports get paralyzed so terribly quickly.
Cleaning doesn’t help after a while either, it’s just an inherent problem with C.

I still think the best connector for charging is the old-fashioned macbook magsafe connector. Magnetic yet reliable
