Strike in six private kindergartens due to pension conflict – NRK Vestland

Mediation started on Wednesday after negotiations broke down in January. The deadline for reaching an agreement was midnight. The parties were unable to reach an agreement within the deadline.

The strike is currently limited to six kindergartens where a total of 42 kindergarten employees will go on strike, reports the Trade Union.

Demand a better pension

It is the pension issue that is the cause of the disagreement.

– The trade union demands the same pension conditions as are common in municipal and other private kindergartens. This is a strike for justice, says the trade union’s negotiation leader Anne Green Nilsen.

The mediation took place between the Trade Union and Abelia/NHO Geneo/NHO Service og Handel.

– It is regrettable that the Trade Union chooses to take kindergartens out of strike now. This affects innocent and vulnerable groups, and puts families in a difficult situation, says Birgit Abrahamsen, head of negotiations at Abelia. She believes that the nurseries have gone to great lengths to meet the employees.

Several places in the country

In the first strike, 42 employees in non-profit and private kindergartens in Trondheim, Drøbak, Oslo, Asker, Stord and Stavanger have been taken out on strike.

  • Auglendsdalen, Salvation Army Kindergarten in Stavanger AS
  • Solgry, Salvation Army kindergarten in Drøbak
  • Trollstua, the Salvation Army’s kindergarten in Asker AS
  • Teisentoppen, Salvation Army kindergarten in Oslo AS
  • Birralee International Kindergarten, Trondheim
  • Ås kindergarten, Stord

Nursery school in Stord confirms on Thursday morning that there will be a reduced offer for the children as long as the strike lasts.

It is regrettable. I hope the conflict will be resolved quickly, so that all children can return to everyday life in our kindergarten, writes board member Lene Presthaug in a message to NRK.
