Stricter measures are returning to the north of Moravia due to coronavirus

Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES) informed about the new measures at Monday’s press conference. Together with him, the conference was attended by the main Czech hygienist Jarmila Rážová, the head of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics Ladislav Dušek and the head of the departmental working group for dismantling measures Rastislav Maďar.

“From the point of view of the whole Czech Republic, the situation is calm and stable. There is no increase in most regions and there is no need to look at it tragically. However, in the Karviná and Frýdek-Místek regions, we must be more vigorous. The situation there is not entirely good, “said Minister Vojtěch at the beginning of the conference, adding that the disease is probably already spreading there in the community.

OKD is responsible for a significant increase in cases

It is these districts that are responsible for the significant increase in the number of new cases in recent days. More than 300 new diagnoses were added on Sunday. Most of this number is due to massive testing of OKD mine workers and subsequent tracing of their contacts.

From Tuesday, the ban on visits to hospitals will come into force again, mass events in indoor areas or the operation of natural swimming pools will be limited to a maximum of 100 people.

According to Vojtěch, employers who employ cross-border workers will have to require them to provide a negative test for covid-19.

Consideration and underestimation of symptoms

However, Vojtěch and other speakers pointed out that consideration and order for people are needed to improve the situation there. For example, they complained about the actions of some companies that currently hold large corporate events.

“If the company is larger and has more branches in the country, it means great potential for igniting new deposits in the Czech Republic. We are underestimating the symptoms of the disease, ”the chief hygienist described the problem.

The rest of the republic can put aside the veils from the beginning of July. The only exception is Prague, where it is necessary to have them deployed in the subway and also at internal mass events. In trams, other surface vehicles or shops, people will no longer have to have their noses and mouths covered.

“Prague is more or less stable, the situation is not escalating anywhere. But we see regular seizures here, about twenty cases a day, “said Vojtěch.
