Strautiņš and Jakovič get 23 points together in the last game of the Italian Super Cup

Latvian basketball player Artūrs Strautiņš scored 15 points on Sunday and Ingus Jakovičs added eight points in the Italian Super Cup game, celebrating the victory of his representative Varese “Openjobmetis”.

Varese basketball players beat Brescia’s “Germani” team in the last game of subgroup A with the result 102: 100 (33:29, 17:24, 32:30, 20:17).

Strautiņš spent 24 minutes and 40 seconds on the court, during which four out of five two-point throws, one of two “threes” and four of six free throws were broadcast in the basket. The most successful team in Varese with 27 points, seven rebounds and seven provocative notes was Lewis School.

The unit represented by Latvians won two games in six games and took third place in its subgroup.

All 16 teams are participating in the Italian Super Cup, which plans to start in the A series of the local championship this season. The teams are divided into four groups, but after the group tournament there will be semi-finals, for which the winner of each group will qualify.

The “Final Four” tournament will be played from September 18 to 20.
