Strategy management game leaves Early Access

Godhood has Early Access after a little over a year GOG.com and Steam left behind (Change-Log; Price: 24.99 euros). In the subtle strategy management game you create your own religion. You have no direct influence on your angers, but communicate indirectly through dreams, practices, shrines and beliefs. Seven content updates were published in the early access process, as the first version was not very popular in July 2019 due to the lack of options for intervention and the relatively low game depth.

“When we released Godhood in Early Access, it had a kind of identity crisis”
, says Manuel Kerssemakers of Abbey Games. “Development was challenging and we definitely encountered a few issues, including downsizing our studio. With a skeleton crew and plenty of faith, we grew Godhood into what we wanted: a completely original niche religion Management game. We want to thank all the tireless players who have come back after update after update and supported us with their constructive feedback! “

Features according to the manufacturer:

  • “Creating and designing your own religion from scratch, with a choice of over 50 dogmas and 25 traditions for followers to follow.
  • Choose from overarching precepts that determine the focus and play style of religion, from the sectarian option of insanity, greed, to heartwarming and benevolent generosity.
  • Recruit a large number of disciples and send them into ritual battles – the sacraments – against ‘heretical’ opponents. Players can reinforce the power of their heroes through various tactical ways by visiting them in their dreams beforehand.
  • Build temples and cities and make sure that your disciples become strong – no matter whether they are cannibals, cat worshipers or thought-lost philosophers.
  • Discover a huge new campaign that offers 3 to 9 hours with each playthrough. The re-playable campaign includes several islands with thematically matching opponents that have to be converted to their true size on the player’s path. “
