Strasbourg Ranks Second in L214’s City Action Ranking on Animal Welfare

Strasbourg is in second place in the L214 ranking on city action with regard to animal welfare. The city was rewarded by the association on May 3 during

the presentation of its animal policy. “In our criteria, a large part of the points are dedicated to the greening of food”explains Erwin Goeller, public affairs officer at L214. “A city that serves 10,000 meals a day can save more than 7,500 animals a year by establishing a weekly vegan day. There is real leverage at the municipal level.”

Mulhouse ranks 33rd in this ranking, because the city did not answer all of the association’s questions. This is one of the challenges of the next few months for L214, to make this classification on cities and animals better known.
