Strasbourg. Jean de La Fontaine declaimed in Saint-Thomas church

Combining literature and music is what the Accord et Fugue association in Saint-Thomas wanted. This Saturday, September 25 at 8 pm, she is organizing a show entitled “The acorn and the pumpkin, The sacred and profane fountain”. “I said to myself that it would be interesting to dramatize his lyrics. It goes well beyond the few iconic fables that we know ”, explains Paul Steib, designer of the show and in charge of the declamation. The performance should last 1 hour 10 minutes, alternating declamations and music.

“The idea is to compare texts, some of which have an openly sacred tone, others more secular,” he adds.

Plague-sick animals , The acorn and the pumpkin or The wolf and the lamb will notably be declaimed. As for the music, it will be contemporary to the artist, with sounds of Louis Couperin or even Henry d’Anglebert. All played on the organ by Francis Jacob, professor at the Strasbourg CNR, accompanied by soprano Hélène Le Corre. As for the staging, it was imagined by the actor Christophe Feltz. Entrance is free and open to all on presentation of a health pass.
