The Last of Us 2 shows story trailers full of anger and pain
Yesterday Naughty Dog announced a new trailer for The Last of Us 2 and now it’s here. You can watch the fresh video material for the upcoming PS4 blockbuster up here in the article. Incidentally, the video shows the scenes in action, which were already released as screenshots in early April!
What the trailer shows about The Last of Us 2 (spoiler-free)
- Right at the beginning we see a retrospective: Joel and Ellie, who was still 14 years old at the time, are traveling together, in a new graphics engine!
- At 0:33 a settlement is torched – is it Jackson, the place Ellie and Joel live in? Maybe that’s the trigger for Ellie’s revenge trip. Or maybe the makers are just leading us on the wrong track
- again we see several very brutal gameplay scenes: throats are cut, in one scene Ellie sews a wound on her arm
- Even a car chase (cira 1:50) can be seen, there is an uncharted feeling!
- The trailer has an oppressive atmosphere that fits the theme of the game. If part 1 was about love, the sequel is about hate
- Do Joel and Ellie have a fight? In minute 1:52 the heroine runs away, sad and angry, from her foster father
The Last of Us 2 release and all other information
The Last of Us 2 appears after several postponements on June 19, 2020 exclusively for the PS4. The post-apocalyptic adventure is over one of four major exclusivesthat the console says goodbye to make room for the PlayStation 5.
Originally, the survival-action-adventure was supposed to open in February 2020, but was then postponed to May, only to be postponed again due to the Corona crisis.
Nothing should stand in the way of (hopefully) the final release date. Naughty Dog has announced the game’s gold status. The Last of Us 2 has been developed to the extent that it can be pressed onto discs and prepared for the digital launch.

In The Last of Us (2), a parasitic fungus has a firm grip on the world and has already exterminated a large number of people or turned it into aggressive mutant fungi. The story of The Last of Us 2 begins about four years after the end of the first part and as a 19-year-old Ellie sends us on a dark revenge trip, the trigger of which we will probably only find out in the final game.
Here’s how it works: The Last of Us 2, like its predecessor, remains essentially an action adventure with survival elements, in which we take on both infected opponents and human enemies, either aggressively or insidiously. Compared to its predecessor, Naughty Dog has many playful innovations and refinements: Ellie fights and moves more agile than Joel, there is an escape button, the skill system has been expanded and much more.
