Storm Ingunn caused power outages and traffic disruptions in Jämtland County

At the moment, there are no new power outages reported and all that have been are fixed.

The storm has caused several power outages around the county during the course of the day. Together, nearly 1,400 households have been without power at various times. Trees that fell on power lines have been cited as the cause of the power outages.

Länstrafiken announces that all bus routes are in service, but that there may be delays during the day.

Åre municipality announces that there will be disturbances during today’s garbage collection trips.

Skalstuguvägen and road 336 from Kallsedet to Riksgräns are estimated to be provisionally closed until Monday morning, February 5.

Road 342 from Framnäs to Riksgräns SE/NO at Framnäs in both directions is estimated to be provisionally closed until Friday morning, February 2.

During the day, SMHI has issued yellow warnings for the mountain areas in Jämtland and Härjedalen, and winds between 18 and 24 meters per second are expected on the Calf mountain.

In southern Jämtlandsfjällen and western Härjedalsfjällen, there is a warning for significant avalanche danger, class 3, until 18:00 on Thursday.

Obstacles have also arisen along some roads with fallen trees.

    Several traffic accidents have occurred around Norrbotten on Thursday afternoon.

    A truck and a car were involved in an accident on the E45 at the height of lower Soppero in Kiruna municipality at around 4 p.m.

    – The weather is extremely bad here. We don’t want anyone driving after the E45 at all, says an operator at SOS Alarm.

    The Swedish Transport Administration also warns against driving on the stretch.

    “Due to the current weather conditions, you should not drive on the E45 between Vittangi and Karesuando”writes the Swedish Transport Administration.

    The truck has been moved from the roadway. There are no reports of personal injuries.

    Stationary cars on E10 – road closed

    There is very difficult weather and road conditions on the stretch between Kiruna and Björkliden.

    – The majority of stationary vehicles on the route, writes the Swedish Transport Administration on its website.

    Fallen trees create obstacles on the roads

    No one enters or leaves the Norwegian hospital

    Parts of the roof at the university hospital in Harstad, Norway, have blown off. According to NRK right now the entrances to the hospital are blocked and no one is coming in or out. Those who have an appointment at the hospital have also found out that their appointment has been postponed.

    – Larger parts of the building are damaged and it is uncertain how it will affect the regular operations in the next few hours, the hospital announces according to NRK.

    The patients inside the hospital must also have been told not to go near the windows.
