Stories from Friday Night Traffic Jams to Short Holidays Behind Fast Trains

Jakarta

Fast car Whoosh now it’s a favorite. People choose to ride Whoosh not only to avoid traffic jams, but also for a short vacation.

One of the employees who works in Jakarta, Hafiz (29), always makes time to go home to Bandung at least once a month. Hafiz, who usually uses travel, now prefers to take Whoosh to avoid traffic jams and get there faster.

“When I travel because it’s usually the weekend, I go home to Bandung, it’s very congested. If there’s traffic jam, it usually takes three hours and four hours to get home,” said Hafiz at the Halim Fast Train Station, East Jakarta, on Friday (17/11/2023).

Hafiz admitted that he usually arrived until midnight when he returned to Bandung by travel vehicle. Now the arrival time is faster if he rides Whoosh.

“Well, if you’ve been on the road for a long time, 3-4 hours, that’s not bad. Moreover, it’s late in the afternoon and you can get to Bandung. If you take a ride, it’s sometimes midnight. If it’s like this (Whoosh) it’s quicker. You’ll be able to get to Bandung at 7pm at the latest. ” he explained.

Similar to Hafiz, an employee named Belva (35) chose to use Whoosh to avoid traffic jams on the road. Previously, he always traveled to Bandung using private vehicles.

“Compared to private vehicles, it also helps to avoid traffic jams. Because traffic jams are tentative, you can’t see when it’s jammed or not,” said Belva.

Belva chose to take Whoosh so she could have a relaxing time when she arrived in Bandung. He admitted that he had to leave in the morning if he used a private vehicle.

“I happened to pick it up a bit late at night to relax. We arrived at 8 o’clock before the event, because it was (the event) at night. So it was still arriving, so we were chasing it. If you take a private vehicle you can leave in the morning. Arrangements are also different,” he explained.

Not only that, the Whoosh fast train is also widely enjoyed by people on weekends. They chose Whoosh because it was considered fast and suitable for taking advantage of a short weekend break.

One of them is Galih (37), who often goes on weekend holidays to Bandung with his family, this time choosing to use Whoosh. He admitted that previously he routinely used regular trains and travel transportation.

“This is a holiday with family, with children, wife. Use Whoosh, want to try it, because I’ve never had the experience. Previously, I usually took a regular train, sometimes I took a travel train, that’s why I wanted to try the fast train,” said Galih when met at the station. Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train in Halim, East Jakarta, Saturday (18/11/2023).

Galih assesses that the prices offered by fast trains are currently affordable. He said he tried the fast train from a friend’s recommendation to reports in the media.

“It’s worth it, because the price is apples to apples with the regular train, it’s better this train, it’s fast. Now 1 ticket is 150. Yes, because of a friend’s story, the media said it was good, so I wanted to try it first,” said Galih.

In line with Galih, Paramita (23), who is a worker, also took the time to enjoy her short holiday at the weekend using Whoosh. He explained that he deliberately chose to leave early in the morning with Whoosh so he could enjoy his holiday in Bandung longer.

“Because we only have two days off, that’s really a bit, that’s why we deliberately went up Whoosh in the morning so we could have a long time to play. At least we’ll arrive in Bandung at 10.00 WIB, so there’s plenty of time to play. Tired of playing, check-in at the hotel, then play again, right? ” said Paramita when met at Halim High Speed Train Station, Jakarta, Saturday (18/11/2023).

Paramita deliberately bought a ticket for a departure time of 08.45 WIB. Because, he had to return to Jakarta on Sunday (19/11) evening because he had to go back to work. He explained that Whoosh ticket reservations can be made on the 5th day of departure.

“Going home tomorrow (Sunday) to Jakarta, taking Whoosh too, at night. You can buy it round trip. However, you can only buy it on the 5th day of departure,” said Paramita.

The Whoosh Promo Price is also Attractive

The Whoosh train has started operating since October 2 2023 after being inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Apart from the fast travel time, the promotional prices also attract people’s hearts.

Nurul was one of those who was curious to try the Whoosh train. He deliberately took two days off work this weekend to try out the Whoosh train with his family.

“I’m curious how fast it is. The price is still cheap, it’s still on promotion, it’s only in Bandung for one night tomorrow, I’ll be back again. This is a really short holiday. I’ll work for five days, on weekends try bringing the kids, bring the parents, just try it out.” “while it’s still cheap. So this holiday is just an experience,” said Nurul at the Halim High Speed Train Station.

Nurul admitted that before he decided to try out the Whoosh train, he first asked his friends about their experiences. He did this because he planned to bring his toddler son and his parents.

“I’m not (worried) actually. Because yesterday two of my friends also had a ride with children aged 8 months and 1.5 years. I also asked about their experience, should they bring a stroller or not, is it noisy or not for children? “Because I’m afraid that at fast speeds my ears will ring and they say it’s safe,” explained Nurul

“I also asked what it was like at the station, were there any supporting facilities such as lifts for carrying strollers and they said it was okay. Especially on the train, there are also toilets for changing diapers, there are changing tables. So that’s the value. “plus I said ‘oh okay, maybe this is child friendly’, that’s the first most important thing,” he added.
