— The Dow Jones New York Stock Exchange Index closed negative on Monday (Oct. 2), with the market still pressured by the prospect of the Federal Reserve (Fed) keeping interest rates high for a long time to stem inflation. While investors keep an eye on US labor data this week. This includes non-agricultural employment figures for September.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 33,433.35 points, down 74.15 points or -0.22%, the S&P500 index closed at 4,288.39 points, up 0.34 points or +0.01%, and the Nasdaq index closed at 13,307.77 points, up 88.45 points or +0.67%.
