The judgment was sliced and, before the merits, the STJD plenary analyzed the competence if the Superior Court could judge the falsification of documents, and only later judged the merits of the action. In the end, the STJD acquitted both Ipatinga (previously fined) and the club’s president, Nicanor Pires, of the 540-day ban.
