This afternoon the first renovated Stint was taken into use on the public road. The cart was banned after a serious accident with a Stint more than two years ago.
Four children were killed and a child and an adult were seriously injured in a collision between a Stint and a train in Oss.
Research has shown that problems with the brake could occur. Use of the electric wagon on public roads was prohibited from October 2018.
Tested
The new model has been approved by the National Road Transport Agency. The new Stints include an extra braking system and drivers must now have a special diploma for it. It can accommodate ten children.
