Talk show host Stephen Colbert has criticized Australian-German actor Ingo Rademacher for refusing to receive the Covid vaccine.

The popular Late Show host singled out Rademacher after he sued US television network ABC for firing him from General Hospital for failing to comply with the broadcasting company’s vaccination mandate.

Colbert, 57, made no effort when he began questioning Ingo on his show, beginning by joking about the actor’s unique name, calling it a ‘random collection of consonants’.

After playing the 25-year-old role of Ingo as Jasper Jacks at General Hospital, Colbert hinted at a cliche plot written on daytime soap operas, where he pretended it was Ingo’s evil ‘twin brother’ who was suing ABC.

‘Now a lot of people say that Ingo Rademacher is being ridiculous. Unless it’s not Ingo Rademacher! He is Ingo Rademacher’s twin brother, Vigo Rademacher, who has just awakened from a coma.

Rademacher filed a lawsuit on Monday, alleging that he had previously applied for a religious exemption to receive the Covid vaccine, after his co-star Steve Burton tested positive for COVID in August.

However, his request, along with Burton’s, were denied by ABC.

Previously, the couple had openly opposed the vaccine mandate.
