TPP “Maritsa East 2” will not stop, but will operate at minimum capacity, announced the caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev in the village of Sredno Gradishte. “We can’t stop the plant, it plays the role of balancing power, if there is a problem in others, it provides,” he was quoted as saying by BTV.
“Only the state cannot help. The management of the plant must look for market principles,” he commented.
According to him, no solution can be found in two weeks or two months. “It is a matter of domestic and industrial consumers, everyone is equally satisfied, they may not be a popular solution, but this is a way of interaction. There will be an order. The plant will operate with the minimum possible capacity, the figures are in the Ministry of Economy. The order will be announced on Monday at the latest, “the prime minister explained.
The initial proposal of the EWRC was that the electricity from the plant should not be included in the price of household consumers, because it is very expensive. Now minimal quantities will go to the home, but without raising the price of electricity by more than planned about 3% from July.
Stefan Yanev explained that a solution will be sought in the Recovery and Sustainability Plan. “We need to see how to improve the condition of the plant and, if it is necessary to close it in the years to come, it should be planned and prepared. The workers should be overtrained for other activities so that there is no tension,” he added.
He announced that after talks with the Minister of Finance this morning he realized that there is revenue in the budget and the trend is positive.
“Our revenues are currently increasing on the basis of taxes, fees, excises, everything that forms this part of the revenues.
