Since Stefan Kuntz (60) is no longer the national coach of Turkey, he has been linked to numerous coaching jobs in Germany – now also with FC Augsburg!
According to the “Augsburger Allgemeine”, the former coach of the German U21 is on the Bundesliga club’s list of candidates!
On Monday, FCA parted ways with coach Enrico Maaßen (39). He took over Augsburg last summer and helped them stay in the league last season.

After just five points from the first seven games and the first round exit in the cup against third division Unterhaching (0:2), the club pulled the ripcord.
Maaßen: “I am of course disappointed about this decision because I am convinced that together we would have managed the turnaround.”
Tobias Strobl (35), previously coach of the second team, will temporarily take over on the sidelines until a new head coach is found.
Who will be Maaßen’s successor?
Stefan Kuntz was released as Türkiye’s national coach three weeks ago. The reason for the dismissal is said to be the changed mood in the team and association. The 60-year-old would now be free for new tasks.
Kuntz led the German U21s to the European Championship title two years ago. The squad also included Finn Dahmen (25), Niklas Dorsch (25) and Arne Maier (24) – the trio currently plays for FC Augsburg!
Kuntz also has a direct relationship with FCA advisor Stefan Reuter, with whom he won the European Championship title in England in 1996.
However, BILD knows that the ex-national player is also one of the successor options if the currently ill national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg (55) wants to – or has to – leave after the German footballers’ embarrassing World Cup preliminary round exit.
