Regional Governor of Epirus Discusses Various Issues in Pre-Election Period

Mr. Kahrimanis expressed confidence that within a few days, one of the 2-3 banks they are in contact with will grant the remaining 25%, allowing the project to proceed.

Regarding the concession of the Belissario camp, the Regional Governor explained that discussions had begun during the tenure of the late Mayor of Ioannina, M. Elisaf. The final document was prepared in collaboration with the then President of the Municipal Council and current Mayor, D. Papageorgiou. Mr. Kahrimanis stated that all issues have been resolved with the National Defense Fund, bringing the matter to a close.

Mr. Kahrimanis also touched upon the utilization of Lake Zirou and the recent decision to designate Kakavia as an exit point to Albania for livestock exports. He emphasized that the Region of Epirus is fully supportive of utilizing Lake Zirou and highlighted the positive impact of the decision on livestock producers in the Arta-Preveza region. With Kakavia now serving as the designated exit point, the prices of livestock are not being compressed, as there is significant demand in the neighboring country.
