The participants of the meeting discussed the hybrid threats created by Russia and Belarus on the external border of the European Union (EU), especially using migration as a tool of influence. The view of the representatives of the countries on the domestic political development of Russia was pessimistic, taking into account the actual transition of Russia to a wartime economy.

The partners agreed that sanctions should be continued, but at the same time, efforts should be made to work more informatively both with the Russian diaspora abroad and, as far as possible, with people in Russia itself, demonstrating democratic alternatives to the so-called “Russian world”.

In the discussions, significant attention was paid to the trends of Russian aggression against Ukraine and mitigating its consequences, as well as the development of the situation in Russia, Belarus, the South Caucasus and Central Asia regions. The meeting participants discussed plans for closer coordination to maintain the level of support for Ukraine in the long term and to encourage further pressure on Russia.

The directors responsible for Russian and Eastern European issues of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Great Britain, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Finland and Sweden took part in the meeting.

The participants of the meeting discussed the progress of Moldova and Georgia towards EU integration, and also discussed the development of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the context of the stability of the South Caucasus region. Discussing the Central Asian region, the partners emphasized the strengthening of relations between the European Union and Central Asia in recent years, with the development of existing and the formation of new high-level dialogue formats.
