Startup Cynoia: Revolutionizing Workflow Management in a Single Interface

Grouping all applications and workflow in a single interface is the raison d’être of the Startup Cynoia founded by Nassreddine Riahi (See route) and Ayoub Rabeh. Cynoia which has managed to impose itself on the map of national and international startups. The Cynoia application optimizes workflow management, helps the company reduce repetitive processes by having tasks flow automatically from one to another until the workflow is completed with speed and speed.

How did you come up with the idea of ​​designing an interface to manage all of a company’s workflow?

After having had a two-year corporate experience within Cortix, the first French company specializing in the design of WEB sites for SMEs, VSEs, I decided to strike out on my own. I created Smart, which was a small call center where we sold IP voice to French, Spanish and Belgian companies. We were working with clients all over the world.

In 2016, I decided to found another IT consulting company and that’s how I met the co-founder of Cynoia Ayoub Rabeh. Due to the nature of our work, we had detected small difficulties in communicating with companies. We were emailing, chatting, and we couldn’t tell if our mailings were being viewed in time.

Each company has its own tools and applications and we thought why not create a tool that brings it all together in a single interface. This is how Cynoia was born at the end of 2019.

Our incubator was located in the United States, the YC Startup School and we had our Startup label in March 2020. Our incubation was done online and we had the opportunity to know very important Startups who enlightened us on many aspects, whether strategic or technological. We have thus progressed in terms of the design and development of our platform. We were only two people at the beginning and there we are 15 in Tunisia.

What is the contribution of your application in facilitating intra-company communication?

It’s simple, when an employee or an executive arrives at his office in the morning, he can open 3, 4 or more applications to carry out his work. We did a little study and we found that in business, you need to consult at least five tools to be able to work.

We check his email, we need another tool for the chat, a tool to manage tickets, projects, lots, the agenda and another for Visio conferences etc. If we do the math, it’s roughly 45 euros per user per month.

It’s not cheap at all and it’s not economical for a small and medium-sized business starting out. We thought: why not create local applications that allow you to have an integrated chat, email management, videoconference management, calendar management, project management through a single interface.

What a company encounters today as a difficulty is having to manage so many applications and switch from one to another, it is expensive to switch from one application to another and it costs time, money and internet speed, there are also a lot of subscriptions, different and in the end, companies have to pay too high bills. And then there are the omissions and the difficulty of cross-checking. It was necessary to solve all this, to facilitate the work of companies, to simplify the search for data and to centralize all the information.

Has your app been well received by businesses?

At the beginning, it was difficult for us to convince people accustomed to a certain rhythm to change their habits and mindset. But when we explained to them in detail, that they need a tool that they could possibly centralize and we showed them with the benchmark what they are losing in terms of time and money, i.e. 45 euros per month and per person, which they pay in foreign currency, they ended up joining.

There is also the latitude to be paid in dinars, we come back cheaper and there is at least 40% time saved on other applications, because companies have the possibility of tracking everything and seeing everything through a one and only interface. We save businesses time and money.
