Starbucks employees will need to be vaccinated or tested

NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. employees at Starbucks will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or undergo weekly drug tests in order to comply with the vaccine requirement decided by the Biden administration, the channel said on Monday of coffees.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the federal agency responsible for the safety of working conditions in the United States, postponed to February 9 the date by which employees of companies with more than 100 people should be vaccinated.

U.S. Starbucks employees, about 220,000 people, must disclose their immunization status by Jan. 10, according to a letter from chief executive John Culver sent to employees on Dec. 27 and reiterated in a memo sent on Monday.

If employees refuse to be vaccinated, they will have to undergo weekly tests and will have to pay for these tests.
