It concerns lottery tickets that the man had bought between 2000 and 2008. The Supreme Court decided five years ago that during this period the State Lottery made misleading statements about the odds of winning. Earlier, the court in Limburg did not agree with him, on which he appealed.

The man argued before the court that if the State Lottery had given him the correct information, he would not have bought lottery tickets. The court considers this plausible. The State Lottery has three months to file a cassation against this decision.
The State Lottery does not yet know whether it will go to the Supreme Court. A spokesman for the Dutch Lottery, which includes the State Lottery, says: “We find the statement incomprehensible. We will therefore first study the statement carefully. ”
