Spotify will stream live concerts – RadioVisie

And start with an audiobook offer

Apparently it is not possible for Spotify. On the one hand, the company is very active in the world of podcasts, on the other hand, audiobooks are now also being announced. To this end, a partnership was entered into with the audiobook platform Storytel, which is also active in the Dutch language area.

Those who have a subscription to Storytel can link their account to Spotify and have the audiobooks read to them via the Spotify app. This is possible because Spotify recently launched the Open Access Platform (OAP), which is intended to creators and provide a way for publishers to find more listeners. When users link their account through OAP, they can view the content of this creators stream via Spotify. More at TechCrunch.

And there is more news about Spotify. A series of virtual concerts will be broadcast from 27 May. They were previously recorded live, and will be streamed with delay. An announcement that many music fans, who have been deprived of live performances due to the corona virus for so long, will certainly welcome.

Of course, this offer cannot replace attending a live concert yourself, but it is starting to look (a bit) like it anyway. The performances can be viewed on Spotify.live and cost $ 15 per concert. The Black Keys, Leon Bridges and Jack Antonoff, among others, are the first bands you will be able to watch and / or listen to. More at Engadget. (HVG)
